Beiing Human for Foundation connects Claude to your Foundation Software accounting database, so you can ask about payables, receivables, job cost, WIP, the general ledger and payroll in plain English and get answers from your live books.
Before you connect
- A Foundation login with ODBC Access enabled. In Foundation, go to Tools and System › Security › Users. We recommend a dedicated, read-only login for the connector. Claude can never do more than this login is allowed to do.
- Your database name, which usually starts with
Cas_. Foundation Software support can confirm it. - If Foundation runs on your own server (on-premise): your IT team must allow Beiing Human’s fixed connection address,
52.206.5.94, through the firewall to your SQL Server. If Foundation Software hosts your database, there is nothing to change.
Connect
- In Claude, open Settings › Connectors, find Beiing Human for Foundation and select Connect.
- On the consent screen, choose Hosted by Foundation or On-premise, then enter your database, username and password.
- Choose what Claude may use: the modules (accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost and commitments, general ledger and bank, payroll and timecards), whether to hide personal data, and whether to allow approved writes. Read only is the default.
- Review exactly what the connection can read and write, then select Connect.
What you can ask
- Which vendors do we owe more than $25k to that are past 60 days?
- What’s the WIP schedule for our open jobs, and where are we over- or under-billed?
- Show retainage we’re holding by customer.
- Which AP invoices are on pay-when-paid jobs where the owner hasn’t paid us yet?
- Summarize payroll hours by job for last week.
Approved writes
If you allow them, Claude can stage timecards, purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders, create customers, jobs and employees, and create unposted AR invoices and journal entries. It never posts, pays or changes existing records. Every write is previewed first and made only after a person approves it, every write is logged, and any write can be undone in one step until your team acts on it.
Disconnect
Remove the connector in Claude’s settings, and disable the Foundation login you used.
